Meesha Shafi, the Pakistani singer and actor few days before opened up about the sexual harassment she faced allegedly by Ali Zafar.
Meesha shared her story on Twitter under the hashtag MeToo which is a global movement against the sexual harassment in which women open up about the harassments they have faced.
As soon as Meesha shared her story, it took the Pakistani internet and media by storm.
The accused, Ali Zafar, also denied the accusations while some women come out with their stories of sexual harassment which also involve the male singer and actor, Ali Zafar.
People reacted to all this Ali-Meesha controversy differently as some took Ali’s side and some Meesha’s. It also uncovered the reality of our society in which the accuser (or victim) is blamed and questioned instead of letting her to speak up with freedom.
Anyhow, this news was so big that it caught the attention of the international media as well. However, the #MeToo campaigner Rose McGowan also didn’t stay quiet at this moment and came out in support of Meesha Shafi.
Rose McGowan tweeted the article of Daily Times by stating, “A heroine of our times. I stand with Meesha Shafi.”

Meesha also seems to be loving Rose McGowan’s support as she not only retweeted her tweet but also shared the screenshot of the tweet on her Instagram.
Rose McGowan is one of the pioneers of the #MeToo movement in the Hollywood who came out with her accusations against Harvey Weinstein.
As days are passing, different women in Pakistan are also coming out and talking against sexual harassment including Armeena Khan, Mahira Khan, Momina Mustehsan and many.
It’s certainly good that many women are coming out against a toxic practice like harassment and we hope that it can lead in cessation of this horrifically immoral act.
