“Padmavati” a lesson for Pakistani film industry

So many movies have been released this year and its almost the end of the year. Indian film industry released a trailer for upcoming drama film Padmavati directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. the film features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid Kapoor in Padmavati

“Padmavati”  The name came to me as a surprise but a glimpse of only one scene made me watch the whole trailer. Not only because Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were wearing intense warrior costumes, but also their looks, expressions, those huge castles and breathtaking sites convinced me that this is going to be the biggest hit of the year. They have really thought the whole thing through. I am not a fan of love stories personally but when it’s a love story involving warriors, battles, and massive budget it’s worth watching. Bollywood is producing masterpieces like this one now, as they have finally realized to come out of the same old stories. Viewers must be tired of watching copied stories from Hollywood and songs from Pakistan.

The main reason behind me picking up my pen and writing all this is, I want Pakistani producers, writers actors and also sponsors to start focusing on some real projects other than pathetic comedy or sad love stories.

There are some talented directors as well in Pakistan and they need to learn from Bollywood directors like Sanjay leela bhansali.  I think people are sick of watching all these kind of movies. It’s finally time to put all that aside and initiate something in the name of entertainment. I know that we have lots of social and political problems pouring on us nowadays but to find a solution we all must work together. People will watch a morally based movie and forget it after some time.

We have to find the root cause of our downfall and problems, and by “our” I mean Muslims. It’s time for history lessons, they should know their past and the reason behind every downfall. Would that be compelling for Pakistani’s? Definitely. In my opinion, stories that involve one’s golden history has a greater impact than those involving routine love stories.

Lesson learned:

Resourceful masses of film industry should take “Padmavati” as an example and try to at least initiate and rethink something better for upcoming days. We have still a long way ahead. My request would be to all producers that if you want to see this industry grow than its time to think out of the box and create something solid. There has got to be someone to make the big move. The new era of technology has begun a long time ago. Put some effort in the making of this industry better by using everything we have available and make the most out of it.
