First, sexually abused at the age of five by a relative

This Mexican girl named Karla Jacinto was rejected by her mother and she came from a dysfunctional family. Karla was sexually abused and mistreated when she was just five by a relative.

Targetted by a trafficker when she was just 12

Karla Jacinto was trapped by a trafficker when she was just 12 by using nice words and a lavish car. She was waiting for her friends near a subway station in Mexico City one day, when an older man came near Karla, started talking to her and telling her how he was abused as a kid. To Karla, he appeared to be very affectionate and a nice gentleman at that time.

Both of them exchanged their numbers and after a week, the man called Karla and she got excited. He asked her to come on a trip with him and amazed her by showing the red Firebird Trans Am.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the car and was very impressed by it. It was exciting for me and he asked me to go to places with him in the car,” Karla Jacinto said to the CNN.

Taken by the trafficker finally

It didn’t take a long time for 22-year-old man to convince much younger Karla to leave with him who was just 12. The departure of Karla from home happened actually at the time when her mother didn’t allow her to enter the home when she came late one night.

“The following day I left with him. I lived with him for three months and during that time he treated we so well. He gave me attention, brought me flowers, clothes etc. Everything was so beautiful,” Karla further said.

But after a few days, the man started telling Karla that what she had to do, her positions and how much she needs to charge. Also, how she had to treat the clients so they should give her more money etc.

When the very first time this sex trafficking’s victim was forced to work as a prostitute, she was taken to the Mexico’s one of the largest cities, Guadalajara.

“I started at 10:00 in the morning and finished at midnight. We were there in Guadalajara for a week. Do the math; twenty per day for a week. Some men would laugh at me when I used to cry. I just had to close my eyes to not see what they are doing with me and so I wouldn’t feel anything,” Karla said while talking to CNN.

Also, there were other cities too and she was also sent to the brothels, roadside motels, streets known for prostitution and homes even.

There were no off days for Karla and she was later made to have 30 customers a day and seven days a week.

“Upto 30 men a day, seven days a week, for four years, I was raped 43,200 times,” Karla said.

Another horrible thing Karla shared was that how ruthlessly she was beaten up by her trafficker when he noticed a mark of kiss given to her by a customer.

“He started to beat me with a chain in all of my body. He punched me, kicked me, yanked my hair and spat at my face. He also burned me with iron that day and accused me of falling in love with the customer. Despite I toldĀ him that I wanted to leave, he told me that I like being a whore,” Karla Jacinto added.

At the age of 13, one day, she was working at a hotel known for prostitution, police appeared. The police kicked all the customers out and she thought her tough time is over as it appeared to her an operation to rescue victims of trafficking sex.

But the reality of police turned out be horrifying and disgusting for Karla when they took girls to a room and made their videos in compromising positions instead of rescuing them; they told them that their videos would be sent to the families if they wouldn’t do as asked.

“The girls were crying and told the police that they were minors but no one paid any attention,” Karla said.

Karla Jacinto becomes an activist

After being raped 43,200 times, Karla is now 23 and raises her voice against human trafficking at different forums.

She also told her story to the Pop Francis at the Vatican and to the U.S. Congress too.

“The minors are being kidnapped, lured and taken away from their families. Don’t listen to me only but also learn a lesson and take the blindfold off your eyes. Doing nothing can just put many other girls at risk of being trafficked and then raped thousands of times just like me,” Karla said at the end.

The story of this sex trafficking’s victim is so horrifying that it literally hurts while going through it. May no one suffers what she had and for this purpose we should raise our voice high to avert this ugly practice of human trafficking.
